Overseer Traffic

Unlike Overseer View and Overseer View IP, Overseer Traffic version is designed mostly for governmental, instead of commercial use.

In comparison with parking video surveillance systems, Overseer Traffic is different by high-speed recognition of vehicle number plates in the video stream – full 25 frames per second (fps). This allows using it in busy places, at intercity and international roads, where car flow is strong and moves at a high speed.

This version of the system fully uses capabilities of contemporary multi-core processors, allowing efficient use of hardware resources. Overseer Traffic supports full cascading, during use of which some servers are in charge of data gathering and its primary processing, while report generation, archiving and other functions are carried out by the other servers. It improves the reliability of the system functioning in general and its fault tolerance. Embedded monitoring system of video surveillance network integrity gives signals about problems in real time, allowing to localize the fault and to solve the problem in the shortest terms.

One more distinguishing feature of Overseer Traffic is the possibility of outer device connection. There is an ability to set flexible operational rules when traffic lights or radars are connected to the system. This allows automation of routine activities and implementation of some functions that were formerly from the realm of science fiction.

For example, using diode signs at the bridges and signpost, it is possible to automatically create corridors for special purpose cars, such as ambulance and police. It is also possible to optimize work of the traffic lights depending on the car flow strength. The system allows automatic issuance of reports on the traffic rule violations, and calculation of fines.

There are many applications for similar instruments, but the main are automation and full remote control. Such features allow creating a united integrated system of the car traffic management and control in the scale of city or even a country.
